Members of the Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities (ERPATs) and the Men Opposed to Violence Everywhere (MOVE) – Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga Chapter, shows their support in the celebration of the International Men’s Day today, November 19, 2024.
The International Menโs Day is celebrated to highlight the importance of recognizing and addressing the challenges and experiences of men and boys. It encourages the society to give importance in tackling menโs mental health, positive masculinity, and gender equality.
This year’s celebration carries the theme “Positive Male Role Models,” which highlights the importance of fostering open conversations about men’s mental health and creating supportive environments where men can thrive.
DSWD Field Office Caraga Assistant Regional Director for Administration Tristan Telen, who is also the newly-elected ERPATs Caraga president, is hoping that this year’s celebration will be instrumental in strengthening the advocacies of the ERPATs and MOVE.
“As the president of ERPATs, I proudly stand with all of you in celebrating International Menโs Dayโa day to honor the boldness, strength, and unwavering dedication of men in shaping families and communities. Let us lead with courage, inspire with honor, and remain steadfast in building a legacy of compassion, resilience, and integrity. Together as MEN, we forge a brighter future for our communities,” ARDA Telen shared in a message.
The DSWD ERPATs is a groundbreaking initiative by the Department, which aims to empower men by encourage them to actively participate in their paternal roles. Members of ERPATs and MOVE in Field Office Caraga are gearing up for their participation in a series of activities, as part of the celebration, this month.
