The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga has begun a series of Consultation Dialogues and Capacity Building activities for Local Government Units (LGUs) and other partner stakeholders. This focuses on the Psychosocial Care and Support Services for Persons Living with HIV (PLHIV). The first batch of the activity was held on November 7, 2024, at JB Nature Farm and Resort, Barangay Sukailang, Surigao City.
This initiative aligns with Section 36, Article V of Republic Act No. 11166, also known as the Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act. The goal is to support social workers and other allied professionals in addressing the evolving needs of individuals living with HIV, thereby contributing to the national government’s overall response to HIV and AIDS.
The agency emphasizes the importance of sustained collaboration and referrals among key stakeholders in the program to effectively tackle these issues and meet the needs of affected individuals.
