The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga successfully held the 2024 Program Implementation Review (PIR) of its Project LAWA at BINHI (Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency Through Nutritious Harvest) on November 7-8, 2024, at Dotties Place Hotel, Butuan City.
Project LAWA at BINHI, seeks to address water scarcity and food insecurity by empowering disaster-vulnerable communities with agricultural development.
The event, attended by Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDOs), stakeholders, and partners, provided an opportunity for participants to share accomplishments, discuss challenges encountered, and reflect on lessons learned from the project’s implementation.
Moreover, on the second day, Dr. Maria Isabel Lanada, Special Assistant to the Secretary (SAS) for Special Projects, joined the event virtually to discuss the implementation guidelines, project updates, and budget allocation for the 2025 implementation of Project LAWA at BINHI.
With the insights gathered during the review, Field Office Caraga and its partners are set to strengthen Project LAWA at BINHI’s contributions to economic growth, water sufficiency, and food security in Caraga.
