The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) hosted the 2024 Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT) Support Services Intervention (SSI) Summit cum Sharing Session on November 12, 2024, at the Pavillion, Watergate Hotel, Butuan City, to celebrate the successes of the MCCT program’s engagement with the Indigenous Peoples’ (IP) communities.
The activity said activity provided a platform for the showcasing of the accomplishments of the various MCCT-IP associations in terms of the opportunities they received from the program, specifically through agriculture, trade, and micro-lending.
The MCCT Summit is part of the Department of Social Welfare & Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga’s initiative to recognize the best-performing associations as a result of monitoring through the program. A total of 45 MCCT-IP Associations were ably represented during the said summit, which was also attended by partners from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
Through the summit, the participating associations were able to feature their products such as handwoven bags, dried fish, and other food items. Furthermore, three best performing SSI Associations were recognized for their hard work and dedication to improving the well-being of their members and their communities, namely the Pagtilaan MCCT-IP Egg Producer SLP Association (Best Performing SSI Association), the Pamian MCCT-IP Abaca Production SLP Association (Breakthrough Innovation SSI Association), and the Rosario MCCT-IP Integrated Livelihood Enterprise (Most Inspiring SSI Association).
During the program, the SSI Associations showed their gratitude to DSWD Caraga for the assistance they received in kickstarting their projects through the MCCT SSI. During the delivery of their speeches, the representatives promised to ensure that their livelihood projects will continue to grow for the benefit of their members, their communities, and their families.
DSWD Field Office Caraga will continue to provide technical assistance to the associations through the 4Ps program, and other instrumentalities or services. This is to ensure the sustainability of opportunities provided to the IP communities.
