4Ps Caraga Assistant Regional Program Coordinator Jehmymah Moscatilles congratulates one of the students of Cecilia National High School

Spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga’s 4Ps Regional Program Management Office (RPMO), the sessions were conducted at Cecilia National High School in Barangay Cecilia, San Luis, Agusan Del Sur from August to November 2024. These sessions were conducted to promote youth development in recognition of the importance of teaching financial literacy to the youth to boost their financial resilience, which involved forty-four (44) senior high school students who were both 4Ps and non-4Ps Beneficiaries.

In her message, Social Welfare Officer IV Sha Honey Petillo encouraged the students to have a dream for themselves and for their families as this will motivate them to do good in life.

“Start with a dream. Often times we forget to have our own dreams. When we dream, that will push us to strive and work hard to achieve that dream,” Petillo said.

Furthermore, Jehmymah Moscatilles, 4Ps Caraga Assistant Regional Program Coordinator invited the participants to share their learnings to their families and communities, making them heralds of proper financial management.

“What you have learned here, I encourage you to share with your other classmates, family members and your neighbors. So that they also have a chance to improve their state of wellbeing,” Moscatilles added.

In her response, Joylyn Hejara, one of the students who participated in the sessions, expressed her deepest gratitude and appreciation of the knowledge she and her fellow students have learned.

“As a student involved in the sessions, I have gained wonderful insights that not only enhanced my knowledge but also shift my perspective about finance and entrepreneurship. The sessions helped me understand how to take control of my finances; from budgeting to saving, and even investing.” Hejara said.
