The Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Service (KALAHI – CIDSS) conducted the Regional Tatak KALAHI-CIDSS Sub-project Awards to feature outstanding Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs), Local Chief Executives (LCEs), and Community Volunteers (CVs) who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to community-driven development.

These awards highlight the transformative efforts and dedication of different local stakeholders for the operation and maintenance of KALAHI-CIDSS sub-projects.

KALAHI-CIDSS awarded 30 outstanding Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) for efficient and effective sub-project Operation and Maintenance (O&M) effort and 6 exemplary community volunteers who embodied the true spirit of community-driven development.

The event was graced by Assistant Regional Director for Administration (ARDA) Tristan Telen, KALAHI-CIDSS National Program Management Office (NPMO) Project Development Officer Jezon Romano, Regional Program Coordinator (RPC) Raffy Vigil, Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) staff, Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) officials, and Community Volunteers.

In his message, ARDA Telen emphasizes the role of community volunteers and other stakeholders in the operations and maintenance of sub-projects to ensure that benefits extend to future generations.

“These achievements are not just numbers or structures – they represent hope, dignity, and opportunity. It shows us that when Local Government Units (LGUs) and other stakeholders take ownership and embrace community-driven development, extraordinary things can happen. Your commitment to monitoring, sustaining, and enhancing these projects is a testament to your dedication to the people you serve,” ARDA Telen remarked.

Moreover, PDO Romano thanked community volunteers for their unending support to the KALLAHI-CIDSS program.

“Maraming Salamat sa lahat ng ating community volunteers, sa inyong di matatawarang serbisyo ang inyong mga komunidad. Kayo ang patunay na lahat ay kayang gawin kung may determinasyon and dedikasyon (I would like to express my gratitude to all our community volunteers for your unparalleled service to your communities. You are a living proof that anything can be accomplished with determination and dedication),” PDO Romano expressed.

KALAHI – CIDSS is a Program of the Department of Social Work and Development (DSWD) that embraces the Community-Driven Development (CDD) approach, where people are not mere beneficiaries but stakeholders who are actively integrated into decision-making, project development, implementation, and management.
