As the year draws closer to its end, the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga held the Pag-ila 2024, Pagkilala sa mga natatanging Kalahok at Kasapi ng SLP, to recognize the unique initiatives and untiring support of the program partners, participants, and staff today, December 13, at Dottie’s Place Hotel and Restaurant, Butuan City.
The province of Surigao del Sur was hailed as the Gawad Ani SLP Champion for the provincial category together with its two municipalities, which are the Tagbina and San Miguel, that were named as the SLP Champion for the municipal category. Agusan del Norte, on the other hand, bagged two same awards with Las Nieves, also for the municipal category, and the City of Cabadbaran for the city category. Moreover, Caraga State University Main Campus and 60th Infantry Battalion 10th Infantry Division received the Kabalikat Award for the Most Outstanding Public Partner and the First Consolidated Bank Main Branch as the Most Outstanding Private Partner.
In contrast, Romnick Alimboyong from San Miguel, Surigao del Sur, won the 1st place for the Gawad Ani Best Microenterprise Development Individual Category, while Reynante Odtojan from Mainit, Surigao Del Norte, and Reynaldo Paolo from San Luis, Agusan del Sur, placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively. For the Association Category, the 3G Marcelina SLP Association (SLPA) from Bayugan City took the top spot, followed by Bislig City’s Masipag Pantawid SLPA and Siana Golden Mother’s SLPA, also from Mainit, Surigao del Norte.
“Wala ko magdahom nga moabot ko sa punto nga ingon ani sa akong kinabuhi. Taman nalang ko sa pagdumdum sa akong mga kaagi sa una nga dili lalim. Niadtong bata pako, hilabian gyud nga kalisud akong naagian, wala damha nga ingon ani na ang estado sa akong kinabuhi karon. Daku gyud akong pasalamat sa DSWD-SLP kay kung dili tungod sa inyo, dili nako maabot kung unsa akong kahimtang karon,” Alimboyong stated.
(I never expected that I was able to reach this far. I always reminisce about the past and the struggles I’ve gone through. Back when I was still young, I experienced a lot of hardships in life. It is unlikely for me to be in this state of living. Thank you very much, DSWD-SLP; without your help, I woudn’t be able to become what I am today.)
Present in the said event were key officials of DSWD, including FO Caraga Regional Director Mari-flor Dollaga, Assistant Regional Director for Administration (ARDA) Tristan Telen, Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Jean Paul Parajes, and SLP Caraga Regional Program Coordinator Reynard Roi Cabusao, alongside Azalea Aporado, SLP National Program Management Office (NPMO) Regional Coach Monitor, and Aileen Dizon, Project Development Officer III.
“It is my privilege to witness this momentous event. The people and participants of SLP Caraga have always been on another level. Seeing the success of this program gives me immense pride and honor as the mother of this agency,” Director Dollaga remarked during her message.
The Pag-ila also recognized the pure diligence and tireless efforts of the people behind the program through the SLP Caraga Loyalty Award and Gawad Ani for the SLP staff.
Agusan del Sur SLP Provincial Operations Office (POO) was declared as the best POO together with its personnel: Danrib Enoc as the Outstanding Provincial Coordinator, Corina Dela Fuente as the Outstanding Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Jemima Casipe as the Outstanding Monitoring Project Development Officer, Donna Verga as the Outstanding Implementing Project Development Officer, and Emmanuel Lofranco as the Outstanding Field Project Development Officer.
Concurrently, Roxanne Velarde from Agusan del Norte POO was named as the Best Provincial Partnership Officer, Joseph Rey Cabansag as the Best Capability Building Officer, Drexler Tulabing as the Best Provincial Administrative Assistant, Alona Jane Fernandez as the Best RPMO Administrative Assistant, and Rodel Crizaldo as the Best RPMO Technical Staff.
Pag-ila is a yearly event that acknowledges the significant contributions of the SLP partners and staff to the implementation of its programs and services and highlights its impact to uplift the living conditions of its program participants.
