In a crucial step to bolster community health and development, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) program officially turned over two comp leted sub-projects in Barangay Poblacion, Jabonga, Agusan del Norte last January 30, 2024.

Both sub-projects were completed under the KALAHI-CIDSS Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay – Community Driven Development (KKB CDD) modality, with a total project cost of Php5,996,537, which is projected to benefit 942 households.

The Barangay Health Station (BHS) is expected to improve healthcare access, reduce costs, and promote preventive care. While Multi-Purpose Building (MPB) will provide a space for community activities, supports livelihood programs, fosters social cohesion, and promotes local development.

The turnover ceremony was graced by National and Local Government Officials, DSWD-Caraga Officers, KALAHI-CIDSS Area Coordinating Teams (ACTs), and Community Volunteers.

Arnold Moralda, Barangay Development Council-Technical Working Group (BDC-TWG) Chairperson expressed his heartfelt gratitude and optimism to the KALAHI- CIDSS program. Moralda emphasized that the project symbolizes unity, progress, and hope for a better future.

“Mapasalamaton ko sa pagtinabangay sa tanan aron mahuman ni nga proyekto, ang pagtinabangay maoy rason nga nahimong malampuson ang proyekto nga pangadoy sa tanan, maka-tabang pod kini para mauswag ang atong komunidad (I am grateful for everyone’s cooperation to complete this project. Our collaboration and unity is the reason of project’s success. This will also help our community progress and prosper). Moralda conveyed.

Furthermore, Brgy. Captain Precious Joy Morales emphasized the vital role of community infrastructure in fostering growth and development of the barangay.



“This health station will serve as a beacon of hope, providing accessible healthcare to every member of the community. Meanwhile, the multi-purpose building will foster unity, providing a venue for various community activities” Morales emphasized.,

KALAHI – CIDSS is a Program of the Department of Social Work and Development (DSWD) that embraces the Community-Driven Development (CDD) approach, where people are not mere beneficiaries but stakeholders who are actively integrated into decision-making, project development, implementation, and management.
