The Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga held the Sulong Dunong: School of Leadership and Project Management (SLPM) cum Product Marketing Through Social Media on January 16–17, 2025, at the Pavilion, Watergate Hotel, Butuan City.
The training empowered 64 SLP staff from both field offices and the Regional Program Management Office (RPMO). Participants explored significant topics, including design theory, effective social media posting, and the importance of building a strong social media presence for product marketing. They also engaged in hands-on activities, such as navigating digital editing tools like Canva. The sessions were facilitated by  highy skilled professionals, including Carol Estore, a social media marketing strategist; Ann Mae Monique Jongko, the information officer of DSWD Caraga’s Protective Services Division; and Shayne Funcion, a renowned content creator with hundreds of thousands of followers and millions of views across various platforms.
“This is a very timely and relevant activity in light of our agency’s new directives, particularly the need to enhance our social media reach,” said SLP Caraga Regional Program Coordinator Reynard Roi Cabusao.
He further emphasized the significance of the training for SLP program participants.
“Our participants already possess the skills to manage their livelihood projects. This additional expertise will significantly expand their marketing reach and open doors to a wider audience of potential customers and clients for their products and services,” he added.
This series of learning sessions equipped participants with a comprehensive understanding of digital design and marketing techniques. These skills will be cascaded to association members and other program participants during future capability-building and social preparation activities.
