The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga through the Pag-Abot Program successfully reintegrated a beneficiary, identified as Mary, into her family home in Barangay Salvacion, Bayugan City, on February 13, 2025.

Mary arrived at Butuan City Airport at 6:10 AM, accompanied by a social welfare officer from the National Program Management Office (NPMO). She was received by the DSWD Field Office Caraga team and escorted to the Bayugan City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

A collaborative effort between DSWD Field Office Caraga and the CSWDO facilitated the reintegration. Key personnel involved included Marjorie C. Oraiz (Social Welfare Officer II, CSWDO), Quennie (Mary’s sister), Reysthy J. Gundaya (Social Welfare Officer III), Dimpnah Cris M. Diaz (SWO II), and James S. Calimas (PDO II). An exit conference was conducted to finalize the reintegration plan and ensure continued support for Mary and her family.

Mary lives with her sister and is reportedly adjusting well to her return home.

The reintegration was carried out through the DSWD Caraga’s Pag-Abot Program, which focuses on reducing risks and vulnerabilities faced by individuals and families in street situations. The program provides social welfare protection services, interventions, and opportunities to improve their social standing and fulfill their fundamental rights. Pag-Abot beneficiaries can access food, healthcare, education, life skills training, recreational activities, employment opportunities, and housing.

The DSWD Field Office Caraga continues its mission to support beneficiaries in achieving stability and a better future.
