The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga through Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan–Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) conducted Municipal Orientation on the Pag-abot Program in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur.

The orientation convened key stakeholders, including Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) officials, led by Municipal Mayor Glaiza Jane Lanete, along with KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) staff, Area Coordinating Teams (ACTs), and community volunteers.

Mayor Glaiza Jane Lanete emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration in ensuring the success of community development initiatives.

“Ang DSWD kanunay gyod mutabang sa kababainhan, PWD, Senior Citizen, Solo Parent, ug uban pa, busa atong silang suportahan. Ang ilang social protection programs para ni sa kaayohan sa tanan (DSWD consistently provides support to women, PWDs, senior citizens, solo parents, and others, so let us support them. Their social protection programs are designed for the well-being of everyone).” Mayor Lanete shared.

Pag-abot is a flagship program of the DSWD, dedicated to reaching out to vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, particularly children and families in street situations. It aims to enhance their social well-being by providing social protection services, targeted interventions, and opportunities that uphold their fundamental rights.
