The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) conducted Municipal Development Council Meeting for Participatory Resource Allocation (MDC-PRA) on February 26, 2025, at Pilar, Surigao del Norte.

MDC-PRA enhances multi-stakeholder collaboration and fosters stronger partnerships between Local Government Units (LGUs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and community members. This meeting plays a crucial role in institutionalizing Community-Driven Development (CDD) principles to ensure that the benefits of inclusive and sustainable development extend beyond the KALAHI-CIDSS program.

Present during the activity were the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) officials headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Maria Liza Resureccion, the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) officials, KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Project Management Office (RPMO) staff, Area Coordinating Teams (ACTs), and Community Volunteers.

KALAHI – CIDSS is a Program of the Department of Social Work and Development (DSWD) that embraces the Community-Driven Development (CDD) approach, where people are not mere beneficiaries but stakeholders who are actively integrated into decision-making, project development, implementation, and management.
