Women play a vital role in shaping communities, and their contributions become even more powerful when they break through barriers and redefine expectations.
The theme โBabae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinasโ emphasizes the strength of women across all sectors in creating a more inclusive society.
As a woman with a disability, Jubeth B. Madrona understands the importance of resilience, advocacy, and self-empowerment. For ten years, she has served as a Social Welfare Assistant under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), working closely with mothers and female beneficiaries who are the pillars of their families and communities.
“Women with disabilities are often seen through a lens of pity and limitation,” Jubeth shares. “But by advocating for equal opportunities and changing the narrative, we empower not just ourselves but also contribute to a stronger society.”
“In my role, I have interacted with mothers and female beneficiaries who are often the pillars of their families,” she continues. “I continually encourage them to take active roles in decision-makingโnot just in their households but also in their communities.”
Through professionalism, compassion, and dedication, Jubeth demonstrates that womenโregardless of abilityโcan lead, influence, and drive change. “By showing strength in our work, we remind other women that we are capable of uplifting families, strengthening communities, and shaping a more inclusive and progressive Bagong Pilipinas.”
Every woman, from every sector, has the power to uplift families and strengthen communities. By challenging stereotypes and fostering inclusivity, women like Jubeth are helping shape a Bagong Pilipinas where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Happy 21st Women with Disabilities Day!
