In celebration of National Women’s Month 2025, the Regional Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (RIACAT-VAWC), chaired by DSWD Field Office Caraga, successfully conducted #JuanaMatters: Free Legal Consultation Para kay Juan at Juana from March 17 to 21, 2025 at SM City Butuan.

The initiative provided free legal consultations to over 40 walk-in clients, ensuring that individuals seeking legal guidance—especially women—had direct access to expert advice. Lawyers from various agencies, including DILG, RACCO, NCMF, DTI, PAO, BJMP, and CHR, dedicated their time to addressing concerns ranging from family law to human rights.

More than just legal assistance, this effort highlighted the government’s commitment to justice, empowerment, and equal access to legal services. As women continue to break barriers, #JuanaMatters served as a reminder that knowing one’s rights is the first step toward empowerment.

This initiative was made possible through the strong partnership between RIACAT-VAWC and SM City Butuan, reinforcing a shared mission of ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to justice and protection.
