In a bid to enhance the quality of life for underprivileged, vulnerable, and marginalized sectors, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte, recently gained access to the Listahanan 3 database from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga. The database access was formally received on March 6, 2025, through Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) Daniel Dumpa.
MSWDO Dumpa emphasized that the Listahanan database provides a comprehensive overview of household well-being, enabling the government to implement targeted interventions more effectively.
“One of the key advantages of the Listahanan database is its ability to assess the overall well-being of entire households, not just individuals. It allows us to determine what resources they have and what they lack. With this data, we can easily identify those in need and provide them with the appropriate programs and services,” said Dumpa.
Based on the LGU’s request, access has been granted to specific data sets, including information on impoverished households with members aged 60 and above, individuals in the labor force, households with access to safe water, and those living in makeshift housing. This access will enable the LGU to develop more effective policies and programs to address the needs of its most vulnerable constituents.
