The Regional Convergence Team (RCT) of the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga successfully conducted the 2025 Year Starter Planning Workshop on March 27, 2025, at VJ’s Sportsbar and Ihaw-Ihaw Grill Restaurant, J.C. Aquino Ave., Butuan City.
The event brought together government agencies, partner institutions, and stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, review past achievements, and strategize for the effective implementation of EPAHP initiatives in the region.
A key focus of the workshop was aligning regional efforts with the newly issued Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC), which provides updated guidelines and enhanced inter-agency coordination mechanisms to maximize the program’s impact. Representatives from various partner agencies shared insights and best practices, emphasizing the importance of sustained cooperation in achieving EPAHP’s objectives. They also outlined their commitments and strategies to strengthen food production, expand livelihood opportunities, and enhance support services for vulnerable communities.
The workshop concluded with the introduction of newly appointed RCT members from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (DA-PCIC), the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), the National Food Authority (NFA), the National Dairy Authority (NDA), and the Alliance of Cooperatives Against Hunger and Poverty (ACAHP). Their inclusion marks a renewed commitment to advancing the program’s goals.
