San Luis, Agusan del Sur โ€” A newly constructed Tribal Meeting Hall was officially turned over to the Indigenous Peoples (IP) community in Brgy. Dimasalang, San Luis, Agusan del Sur, marking a significant milestone in the governmentโ€™s efforts to promote inclusive development and cultural preservation among indigenous groups.

The facility, completed through the Department of Social Welfare and Developmentโ€™s (DSWD) Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapanโ€“Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) program, has a total project cost of Php 1,159,772.

This newly built Tribal Meeting Hall is expected to play a vital role in preserving indigenous customs and traditions, while also serving as a functional venue for addressing community concerns and development planning. It will benefit 160 households, providing a dedicated space for traditional gatherings, community meetings, conflict resolution, and other cultural and social activities.

The turnover ceremony was attended by representatives from the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU), Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Project Management Office (RPMO), Area Coordinating Teams (ACTs), community volunteers, and tribal leaders.
KALAHI-CIDSS is one of the poverty alleviation programs of the DSWD that adopts the community-driven development (CDD) strategy, empowering communities to identify and implement solutions to their development needs.
