Several key partners of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) reaffirmed their support for the program during the Project Pag-usbong and Provincial Partnership Consultative Dialogue held on April 15, 2025, at the NEWS MPC Function Hall in Poblacion, San Jose, Province of Dinagat Islands.

The event gathered representatives from national government agencies, various offices of the provincial local government unit (PLGU) of Dinagat Islands, and other institutional partners. All expressed their ongoing commitment to supporting the implementation of the program throughout the province.

“This consultative dialogue serves as a valuable platform for us to share important updates on the program’s implementation in the province. It also allows us to assess gaps and challenges in our current strategies, enabling us to redesign and deliver targeted interventions that can significantly enhance the development of our participants and the sustainability of their livelihood projects,” said Assistant Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Geniel Lisondra during her opening message.

During the meeting, stakeholders pledged to provide a range of support services, including technical and vocational skills training, referral of eligible participants to employment and livelihood opportunities, resource sharing, and joint advocacy efforts to raise awareness and promote the SLP at the grassroots level.

“With the upcoming activities in the province, including the scheduled bazaar, we warmly invite you to take part and showcase the locally made products of your program participants,” said Lorwin Jade Clerino, Planning Officer III of the Provincial Planning and Development Office.

“These events offer valuable opportunities for our beneficiaries to promote their craftsmanship, expand their market reach, and gain greater exposure for their livelihood endeavors,” she added.

These recalibrated commitments from partner stakeholders are expected to significantly strengthen the reach and long-term sustainability of the SLP across the province. By enhancing collaboration and aligning efforts toward shared goals, the program is better positioned to deliver inclusive, needs-based interventions that empower individuals and uplift communities through sustainable livelihood opportunities.
