On April 30, 2025, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through its Project LAWA at BINHI (Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished), conducted simultaneous payout activities across Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, and the Province of Dinagat Islands.
A total of 1,098 partner beneficiaries from the municipalities of Barobo and Madrid (Surigao del Sur), Santiago (Agusan del Norte), and Basilisa (Dinagat Islands) received Php 7,700 each, a rightful and well-deserved compensation for their vital role in implementing community-based initiatives under Project LAWA at BINHI.
These beneficiaries have made significant contributions to projects aimed at enhancing water access and promoting food security, two essential pillars of sustainable development in vulnerable communities. The payout is not just a financial transaction but a recognition of their dedication, time, and effort in advancing local resilience and well-being.
Through initiatives like these, the DSWD Field Office Caraga reaffirms its commitment to uplifting communities, empowering individuals, and fostering partnerships that create meaningful and lasting impact across the region.
