NASIPIT, AGUSAN DEL NORTE- Listahanan-hired field workers underwent Basic Training for the 3rd round household assessment conducted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga, through the National Household Targeting Section (NHTS), at Amontay Beach Resort this municipality.
The hired field workers are composed of the Area Coordinators, Area Supervisors and Enumerators who will take the lead in conducting the household assessment which will commence next month.
Training for Area Coordinators and Area Supervisors recently concluded on September 3-7, 2019 and September 9-13, 2019 respectively. The four-day training equipped and prepared the field workers on their responsibilities during the actual assessment. They were trained how to review accomplished Household Assessment Forms (HAF), the main tool used in collecting pertinent information from the households as well as crafting the Deployment Plan to ensure that all areas under their areas of assignment will be covered during the 45-day assessment period.
In her speech during the training for Area Supervisors, Regional Director Mita Chuchi Gupana-Lim reminded the field workers to perform their task and responsibilities as well as to supervise their enumerators on the field to ensure that correct and complete data and information will be collected.
Under the Listahanan contract, the Area Coordinator will handle a minimum of 5 Area Supervisors. Part of their roles is to conduct city/municipal LGU orientation on the Listahanan project emphasizing the objectives of updating the database of poor households, identify pockets of poverty in urban-classified barangays using the 10-point questionnaire, ensure completion of the municipal/city/barangay maps, oversee the conduct of assessment activities, to ensure areas are completely covered and the deployment plan is implemented as scheduled.
While the Area Supervisors will supervise a minimum of 5 enumerators. Part of their responsibilities is to conduct orientation at the barangay level on the Listahanan project, ensure that barangay or community guides are mobilized to assist the enumerators in accessing distant or far flung areas for assessment, monitor and supervise the conduct of household assessment in the barangays to ensure that the assigned areas are completely covered, review all accomplished HAFs daily for completeness, correctness, and accuracy of responses as well as coach and monitor assigned enumerators to ensure assessment is conducted in accordance with the policies and guidelines.
This week, the Department will conduct 5-day Basic Training for the 1st batch of Enumerators from Agusan del Norte and Province of Dinagat Islands. The training will highlight more on the protocol in conducting the household assessment. Other batches will follow on the next weeks.
