BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Caraga Region has invited 15 members from the media in Agusan del Norte to a media tour and showcased the implementation of the three core social protection programs of the Department in the municipality of Jabonga, Agusan del Norte on September 7, 2012.

Hon. Glicerio M Monton, Jr., mayor of the municipality of Jabonga welcomed the team of DSWD and media. Mayor Monton presented the implementation of KALAHI-CIDSS, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) in his municipality. These are the three core social protection programs of the Department.

The team together the with the local social welfare office personnel headed by MSWDO Editha Grana  also visited KALAHI-CIDSS projects and SLP projects benefiting pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries. The media personnel also witnessed a group of mothers attending Pantawid Pamilya’s Family Development Session (FDS). The media were also able to interact with the beneficiaries.

The Department through the media tour received positive feedback from the media as they witnessed the successful implementation of the programs. Mr. Noel Najarro, Editor-in-Chief of Butuan Star said that he appreciated what Mayor Monton shared that the sub-projects of KALAHI-CIDSS is just a way of empowering the ordinary people. ###
