The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a 2-day Quick Response Team (QRT) Refresher Training for its staff on August 5-6, 2021 at the Amontay Beach Resort, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte.
The activity was conducted to provide an avenue for the QRT members to review information, and to learn new skills needed for their respective functions during emergency operations. It would also provide them aid to keep important key points in the monitoring during operations, and as well as be informed about the new developments and updates for Disaster Reponse.
One of the topics discussed among others was the Caraga Disaster Response Reporting and Information Management System (CDRRIMS), a system which was highlighted as the centralized database storage wherein all disaster-related data could be accessed easily which aids on the planning of augmentation support.
As the vice-chair for disaster response, the agency intended to equip its staff to expedite the humanitarian response or operations to meet the given time of service delivery as mandated in RA 11032.
During his opening message, OIC-Regional Director Ramel F. Jamen challenged the participants on assessing the previous relief operations made to know the areas that need improvements and to come up with strategies for improvement.
“I challenge everyone here today to look back, assess ourselves on what do we need to work on and improve – what are the strategies we need to take to improve are operations. I hope we are here today with one common aim and that is to improve for a more efficient services,” OIC-RD Jamen said as a call for action to the participants.
