As of Jan 28, 2022, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office (FO) Caraga has augmented a total of Php 177,703,270.54 worth of food (FFP) and non-food items (NFI) to Typhoon Odette severely affected LGUs in the region.
225,975 Family Food Packs (FFPs) amounting to Php 120,890,537.19 were delivered with the following breakdown in each province: 10,683 FFPs or Php4,974,637.32 for Agusan del Norte, 163,317 FFPs amounting to Php89,372,741.38 for Surigao del Norte (comprising Mainland and Siargao Islands), 11,550 FFPs amounting to Php5,329,146.50 for Surigao del Sur, and 40,425 FFPs amounting to Php21,214,010.99 for the Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI).
Meanwhile, a total of Php 56,812,733.35 worth of NFI were also delivered consisting of Family Kits, Hygiene Kits, Sleeping Kits, Kitchen Kits, Laminated Sacks, Family Tents, Purified Drinking Water, Malong, and Mosquito Nets.
As of this writing, a total of 36,018 FFPs amounting to Php17,378,629.80 are already in transit to requesting LGUs. With these ongoing figures, the Department is on its preparations for the second round rations of augmentation. On top of the relief operations, ongoing damage and needs assessments and other psychosocial interventions are also being conducted in the hope of meeting the holistic welfare of the affected individuals.
Furthermore, other activities are also in place in preparation for other interventions set by the Department. Consultation Meeting-Workshops with Local Social Welfare Development Officers (LSWDOs) is already set in Surigao del Norte and island municipalities of Siargao and PDI. Orientation on the requirements of both Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) and Food-for-Work will be discussed in preparation for the implementations in the coming days.
