As of February 7, 2022, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga has disbursed a total of Php199,180,000.00 to 39,836 families severely affected by typhoon Odette through its Assistance to Individual in Crisis Situations (AICS) Program.

The assistance has the following breakdown in each province: Php103,320,000 for 20,664 families of Surigao del Norte (Siargao Islands) while Php14, 890,000 for 2,978 families served in Surigao del Norte (Mainland) and Php80,970,000 for 16,194 families served in the Province of Dinagat Islands.

Meanwhile, unclaimed assistance totaled to 1,741 families; 1,221 for Dapa, and 520 for Basilisa. Schedule for the unclaimed is yet to be finalized with the respective LGUs.

AICS is the Department’s program functions as a social safety net or a stop-gap mechanism to support the recovery of individuals and families from unexpected crisis such as illness or death of a family member, and other crisis situations. At present, the Department through its Protective Services Division, is on the preparation for the upcoming schedules of payout to affected areas which were yet to be catered.
