As Vice-chair for the Disaster Response, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga spearheaded the 3rd quarterly meeting of the Regional Disaster Response Committee, at the Pavilion, Butuan City, on September 15, 2022.
Disaster Response Management Division Chief Melanie Juan delivered the welcome message and chaired the meeting on behalf of Regional Director Mari-Flor A. Dollaga, who also attended an equally important event.
The quarterly meeting aims to fortify the committee’s collaborative and coordinated cluster-system approach in implementing its disaster response operations. This is also the venue for the committee members to provide updates and discuss disaster response-related matters in addressing the needs of Caraganons during disasters.
During the meeting, WFP Caraga Head Lourdes Ibarra, discussed the Minimum Expenditure Basket (MEB), an approach that would swiftly respond to the early recovery’s assistance needs covering food, shelter repair tools, health, education, water sanitation, and livelihood.
Meanwhile, DC Juan, notified the member-agencies in the forthcoming implementation of the Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) for Typhoon Odette affected-families where the Department will be needing all the help in implementing.
The meeting was participated by the representatives of RDRC member-agencies specifically, DOST – PAG-ASA, DOH, PNP, DILG, DICT, OCD, AFP, DOLE, DTI, PPA, BFP, NFA, PIA, DPWH, PCG, and WFP.
