In her message of support, Provincial Administrator Elizabeth Marie R. Calo (on behalf of Governor Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante) of Agusan del Norte, ensured that the provincial government will value Listahanan and utilize its fullest potential especially that they appropriate their biggest budget for Social Services.
“We appropriate more than 80% of our budget [to social services] and always an item in our supplemental budget. Therefore with the Listahanan, it is a welcome development for us to be given opportunities to make use of a very significant tool that will guide us in our plans,” Calo said.
On the other hand, Butuan City Councilor Victor Vicente G. Plaza said that through Listahanan, they can easily identify who will be prioritized for their programs and services.
“Having a comprehensive profile of the poor gives is the complete details on the demographic and the number of people that we should look into and be given priority and consideration to be accommodated for all social interventions, and aim to alleviate the quality of their living,” Plaza said.
Commission on Population Regional Director Alexander A. Makinano, also expressed his support to use the Listahanan 3, for the implementation of their programs, especially for responsible parenthood and family planning services.
“As we plan and implement projects, we need to consider who are greatly and mostly affected sectors of the population. This is where exactly the substance, the content and the need of Listahanan would become a great and primary source. This is exactly why we are using the Listahanan 1,2 and soon Listahanan 3,” shared Makinano.
With the launching of the Listahanan 3 database, the Department will double and continue its effort in promoting the utilization of the said database – the talaan ng pamilyang nangangailan – to the different partner-stakeholders to enable them to objectively identify the poor, and those with special needs, who shall be prioritized in the delivery of social protection programs and projects.###(Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga).
