SURIGAO CITY- To strategically target those who are in need of the government’s assistance, the Local Government Unit of Surigao City partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga for the utilization of the Listahanan 3 database.
This partnership was expressed through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Regional Director Mari-flor Dollaga and Mayor Pablo Yves Dumlao on May 4, 2023. The activity was also witnessed by Assistant Regional Director for Operation Jean Paul Parajes, OIC PPD Chief Aldie Mae Andoy, and City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) Head Lenie Liray.
After the MOA signing, DSWD turned-over the electronic copy of the list of identified poor households/ families to the LGU. This database will then be utilized by the LGU in identifying who are in need of targeted interventions from the government. The said database contains the master list of poor households per barangay, number of poor households by basic sectors, number of poor households with unemployed household heads, and tenure status of house and lot occupied by poor households.
LGU Surigao is the first LGU to comply all the necessary requirements related to the Data Sharing Guidelines, as compliance also to the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Based on the Listahanan 3 household assessment, a total of 12,397 households were identified poor in Surigao City. And these households are hoping that they will be prioritized by the government’s programs and services.###(Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga).
