The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga led in the conduct of the 2nd Quarter Regional Disaster Response Committee (RDRC) meeting at The Pavilion, Watergate, Butuan City, June 13, 2023.

The RDRC meeting is the avenue for the Disaster Response member agencies to share their updates and assessments on their response operations from the previous quarter, present accomplishments, and discuss issues and concerns related to their operations.

Attendees of the meeting are representatives from the different national-line agencies such as DAR, NFA, DICT, BFP, PNP, PCG, DOLE, PAGASA, DOT, PPA, DILG, OCD, NHA, DOH, DHSUD, 402nd Brigade, and DTI. Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Jean Paul S. Parajes, welcomed the participants and encouraged everyone to share and learn from each other’s experiences in order to enhance the efficiency of the disaster operations.

Meanwhile, Butuan City PAGASA Meteorologist Lance Ver Galanida emphasized in his weather update that the heat index felt by Caraganons is not yet the effect of the El Niño phenomenon but rather a result of the increasing temperature brought on by global warming – thus the need for the committee to gear up for the coming days.

Also, the Department of Health (DOH) Caraga shared a Knowledge Sharing Session (KSS) about mental health which aims to promote a healthy workplace for all member agencies.
