Represented by Social Welfare Officer II, Jayric Pallado, DSWD Caraga distributed F/NFI to the IDPs in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur.

With its continuous efforts to serve the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) due to the armed conflict that occurred in Barangay Bigaan, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a 2-day Psychological First Aid (PFA), on July 28–29, 2023.

Psychological First Aid (PFA) conducted on children whose families are internally displaced during armed conflict.

PFA is psychological support provided to individuals who have experienced a traumatic incident, such as an armed conflict, to reduce distress and promote resiliency.

Additionally, Field Office Caraga offloaded 249 FFPs, 83 sleeping kits, 83 hygiene kits, 249 malongs, and 249 blankets.

Meanwhile, two hundred seventy-six (276) armed conflict-affected families from Barangay Santa Juana, Tagbina, Surigao del Sur, have also been provided with Food and Non-Food Items (F/NFI) on July 31, 2023.

DSWD Caraga leads the F/NFI distribution, together with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) Tagbina, the Office of the Mayor represented by Honorable Vanessa Polizon, Municipal Agriculture, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Tagbina, the Philippine National Police, and the 67th IB Philippine Army.

Items received by the affected families are FFPs, hygiene kits, sleeping kits, malongs, and blankets.

FO Caraga ensures that it addresses the existing needs in the affected areas by coordinating closely with the concerned MSWD Offices.

DSWD Caraga, together local government unit of Tagbina and the Philippine National Police-Tagbina, led the F/NFI distribution.
