DSWD – FAO gears up for B-SPARED pilot project

Assisted by the local government unit of Bacuag, DSWD, and FAO conducted a mapping of agricultural assets, warehouses, prepositioning areas, and local markets.

Building on Social Protection for Anticipatory Action and Response in Emergencies and Disasters (B-SPARED) has conducted orientation for the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bacuag, Surigao del Norte.

The said orientation is in preparation for the B-SPARED project implementation which will target poor and vulnerable households during disasters with LGU Bacuag as the pilot municipality in Caraga.

The avenue was maximized for the presentation of the final project design narrative, the finalization of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and the Listahanan 3 database validation.

The orientation was hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), together with the Disaster Response Management Bureau (DRMB), DSWD FO Caraga, and LGU Bacuag.

Moreover, it was followed by the mapping of agricultural productive assets, warehouses, prepositioning areas, and local markets on August 14-18, 2023 which aims to identify disaster preparedness and market access once the pilot project is implemented.
