The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office Caraga conducted the KALAHI-CIDSS World Bank Mission in Barangay Caub, Del Carmen, and Brgy. Katipunan, Pilar, in the island of Siargao, Surigao del Norte, on May 25, 2023.
DSWD Field Office Director Mari-Flor Dollaga, together with the KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Program Management Office (RPMO), were welcomed by LGU Del Carmen mayor, Hon. Alfredo Corro II, during the visit in Barangay Caub (morning visit), and then proceeded to Brgy. Katipunan, Pilar, where the team were warmly welcomed by Pilar mayor, Atty. Maria Liza G. Resurreccion, in the afternoon.
Together with the team were Didith Bosoen – Project Evaluation Officer V/ PMED Head and Jezon Romano – Project Development Officer IV, both from the KALAHI-CIDSS National Program Management Office (NPMO) who conducted focus group discussions with KALAHI-CIDSS community volunteers, and Barangay Local Government Officials from both barangays.
The purpose of the mission is to gauge the impact of the KALAHI-CIDSS implementation in the Region, especially in the two municipalities. This is through the discussion of the learnings, good practices, and strategies which resulted in the program’s successful implementation.
The representatives from the NPMO gave their positive feedbacks during the exit conference for the visits, highlighting the great contributions of both LGUs which have been critical to the success of the program’s implementation. The results of the mission will be submitted and discussed with Developmental Partners, the World Bank, for possible improvements in the KALAHI-CIDSS implementation.
