The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through the Legal Section of the Office of the Regional Director, is continuously offering free Legal Assistance and Counseling to Barangay Siana mudslide survivors in Barangay Magpayang, Mainit, Surigao del Norte, from May 27-29, 2024.

For the aforementioned dates, this initiative will be conducted in partnership with the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO). This activity is an additional effort by the Department to support with their legal needs as the survivors lost their critical legal documents during the landslide on May 11, 2024.

Previously, the Department distributed Family Food Packs (FFPs) and Non-Food Items (NFIs) to the affected individuals and assisted Local Government Unit of Mainit in conducting profiling of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) through the Disaster Response Information and Management Team.
