The undying dream of Janeth Mundas drove her to be determined, dedicated, and committed. Even with the challenges of raising a family, Janeth never gave up on her pursuit to be a professional teacher – she held on to the belief that everything is possible. At present, she is taking her Master of Arts in Education at the Northern Mindanao Colleges, Inc., Cabadbaran City.
“Blessed kaayo ko kay nahimo kong beneficiary sa 4Ps ilabi na nga duna koy PWD nga anak (15 years old). Nahatagan kog higayon nga mamahimong Parent Leader sa among Barangay. Bisan pa sa kalisod nga akong natagamtaman, ako kauban sa akong pamilya nagpabilin nga magmalig-onon (I am so blessed that I became a 4Ps beneficiary, especially that I have a child who is a PWD. I was given the opportunity to be a Parent Leader in our barangay. Amidst the hardships that we have gone through, me and my family have continued to be strong),”Janeth shares of her experience as a Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiary.
She acknowledges the government’s programs for aiding her in achieving her goals. “Tungod sa mga programa sa gobyerno, nahatagan kog opportunity nga makahoman sa akong pagskwela. Dili matungkad ang akong kalipay nga usa nako ka Public Teacher sa Puting Bato Elementary School (Because of the programs of the government, I was given the opportunity to finish my studies. The happiness i feel is unfathomable, especially that I am now a Public Teacher at Puting Bato Elementary School – Cabadbaran City),” Janeth shares.
For her, one of the greatest contributions of the program is not merely the grants they receive but the learnings they have through the Family Development Sessions the program provides. “Mapasalamaton ko nga nagpabilin ang mga maayong nakat-onan nako sa Family Development Sessions ug mga life skills trainings, ug magpadayon ko sa paghatag ug inspirasyon sa mga ginikanan ug sa komunidad (I am thankful that the learnings I have had through the Family Development Sessions and the life skills trainings have come handy. I will continue to inspire other parents and the community),” Janeth added.
