True to its strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and quality public service to all Caraganons, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga presented its accomplishments and plans for its programs and services in the recently concluded ‘Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas’ earlier today, June 11, 2024, at the DSWD FO Caraga Conference Hall, Butuan City.

The nationwide simultaneous rollout of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas, which is organized by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), through the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga, is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in highlighting the government’s performance in delivering its services to the Filipino people.

This is also in line with the Bagong Pilipinas campaign of the current Administration which focuses on an all-inclusive plan for economic and social transformation. With this, DSWD Field Office Caraga showcased its different programs and services which has contributed to the Bagong Pilipinas brand of service.

DSWD Field Office Director Mari-Flor Dollaga welcomed the opportunity to share with the guests and the general public, the new programs of DSWD – programs which are the initiatives of the current administration to address food security and the impacts of high inflation.

Dir. Dollaga clearly discussed the features of the latest programs of Walang Gutom 2027 (Food STAMP) and the Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) during the Kapihan live talk show segment, which was hosted by PIA Caraga Director Venus Garcia.

Also present during the Kapihan session were Division Chief Jessie Catheryn Aranas (Protective Services Division), Division Chief Aldie May Andoy (Disaster Response Management Division), Regional Program Coordinator Raffy Vigil (KALAHI-CIDSS), and Social Welfare Officer III Hazel Palasol (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) who apprised guests and viewers of the accomplishments of their respective programs.

One of the highlights of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas was the open forum where partners from the media raised their queries, clarifications, and even suggestions as to the implementation of DSWD’s programs and services. Dir. Dollaga and the rest of the panelists convincingly addressed issues and concerns directed to the agency, giving clarifications to matters that have caused skepticism among the public.

In closing the session, Dir. Dollaga gave the guests and viewers the commitment of the Field Office to continue delivering quality service to Caraganons. She also extended several avenues for the Field Office to be accessible to the public for reports or queries so that the FO will be able to respond to them immediately.
