The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS), concluded the Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay – Cash-For-Work (KKB-CFW) payouts in the municipalities of Madrid and Lianga on May 20-22, 2024.

The Field Office handed over Php2,647,750 to 1,513 qualified beneficiaries in the municipality of Madrid, Surigao del Sur and Php14,792,750 to 8,453 qualified beneficiaries in the municipality of Lianga, Surigao del Sur, with each beneficiary receiving Php1,750 for their 5-day community service rendered under the program.

While it is heartwarming to witness the joy and gratitude of the beneficiaries as they received their pay, it is also worth remembering that this initiative from the government has supported individuals and families who were greatly affected by natural disasters.
