After a 7-year hiatus from implementing the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS), the Municipality of Sta. Monica, Surigao del Norte has once again enjoyed the benefits of the program as it completes the implementation of Php15,000,000 worth of community sub-projects.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, successfully turned over community sub-projects in 11 barangays, through the KALAHI-CIDSS program on May 20-24, 2024, which benefits 2,586 household in the municipality.
On behalf of Municipal Mayor Arwela Dolar, Municipal Vice-Mayor Fernando Dolar represented and led the said turn-overs, assisted by KALAHI-CIDSS Area Coordinator Jermin Elmido and Project Development Officer III Dennis Barber. Also present during the activity are the KALAHI-CIDSS Area Coordinating Team (ACT), Municipal ACT, Sangguniang Barangay Officials, Barangay Development Council – Technical Working Group (BDC-TWG), Community Volunteers, and the beneficiaries of the sub-projects.
A total of Php15,196,519.00 was utilized to fund the newly inaugurated and turned over sub-projects under the program. The ceremony’s highlight was the turnover of the Key of Responsibility from DSWD Field Office Caraga, LGU Sta. Monica, the Barangay LGUs, the Community Volunteers, and lastly, to the Operation and Maintenance Team.
Aside from the turnover of the Key of Responsibility, community volunteers were given certificates of recognition for their exemplary service and dedication in implementing the sub-projects.
Seeing the impact of the program, LGU Sta. Monica vowed to promote CDD and sustain the impact of the program to ensure the continued progress of the municipality and its communities.
