The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga distributed family food packs to the 987 El Niño-affected farmers in Tubay, Agusan del Norte, today, June 14, 2024.

One of the farmer recipients, all smiled as he received the FFP.

The said food augmentation, which is conducted in coordination with the local government unit (LGU) of Tubay, aims to support farming families whose crops have been severely affected by the prolonged drought caused by the El Niño phenomenon. It is also vital for farmers, who are struggling to make ends meet.

Each farmer from the barangays of Sta. Ana, Doña Telesfora, Doña Rosario, Victory, and Tagmamarkay have received one family food pack (FFP).

DSWD will continue to distribute the same assistance in the following week to fisherfolks in the coastal barangays of Tubay. The said efforts reflect the Agency’s commitment to providing relief and support to vulnerable communities, ensuring that no one is left behind during times of crisis.

Mayor Jimmy Beray of Tubay, ADN, delivers a defining message for the farmers.
