In support of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) observed every July, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga commenced the NDRM celebration with a surprise earthquake drill during its Monday Convocation on July 1, 2024.
Part of the activity was unveiling the Mobile Command Center, a vehicle designed to bridge communication gaps during disasters.
Moreover, on July 3, 2024, Field Office Caraga joins the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) kick-off celebration at Camp Rafael Rodriguez, Police Regional Office 13.
“Along with other partner agencies, DSWD Field Office Caraga remains secured on its footing and has served as strength for Caraganons during disasters. Our partnerships with local government units, national line agencies, and the private sector have been invaluable – they stand with us during our disaster response operations. As Vice Chairperson for disaster response, they too can count on the Angels in Red Vests to stand by their side in forming a disaster-resilient Caraga,” DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes said in his message during the kick-off ceremony.
Celebrated every July, this year’s NDRM focuses on the theme “Bantayog ng Katatagan at Pagbubuklod sa Layuning Kahandaan,” which underscores the importance of unity and preparedness in building resilience against disasters.
As the nation observes National Disaster Resilience Month, Field Office Caraga remains dedicated to its mandate of promoting social welfare and ensuring the safety and well-being of all Filipinos, particularly in times of crisis.
