As the second phase of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) sustainability plan commenced, the SLP-Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted the SLP SULONG DUNONG: Rollout of Memorandum Circular No. 07 S. 2023 Mandatory Trainings on October 1-2, 2024, held at Balai La Nina, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte.
Usbong Phase has Micro-Enterprise Development Training III, which focuses on value chain, effective negotiation skills, and profit sharing. This will give more knowledge and skills to the program’s participants to ensure efficient monitoring in their operations.
The said training capacitated the SLP personnel from the Provincial Operations Office technical staff of each province in the region, who will be augmented to provide thorough technical assistance to the SLP Associations (SLPA) in their respective provinces. They conducted a series of activities, including simulations on negotiation, drafting of a profit-sharing plan, and other discussions relevant to the module.
“These activities incorporated in the training not only facilitated learning but also contributed to the actual enhancement of the presentation, making it more effective for program participants,” said Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for Agusan del Sur Corina Dela Fuente.
Moreover, Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes was also present in the activity and expressed his commendation to the program’s staff, particularly in the field.
“Your efforts and the job you are doing are very commendable. It’s not easy to be on the ground, implementing the program, and directly interacting with beneficiaries. I admire your diligence to deliver the best possible outcome of your work,” ARDO Parajes stated.
Usbong is the second stage of SLPs five-phase sustainability plan which comprises of Punla, Usbong, Sibol, Yabong, and Ani. It is centered on the seed progress and self-sustainability, wherein the program participants are able to maintain their livelihood operational and secure positive gross sales and net income.
