The DSWD Field Office Caraga’s Home for Girls closed the month of October with a meaningful celebration of National Mental Health Month, spotlighting this year’s theme: “It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace.” Through this event, DSWD highlighted the importance of creating nurturing environments not only in workplaces but also in communities and daily life.

The celebration aligned with the objectives of Proclamation No. 452, which encourages activities that promote mental wellness and build awareness nationwide. It provided a platform for participants to understand mental health better and recognize its value as a shared responsibility across all sectors.

One of the highlights of the event was a Mental Health Talk that introduced key concepts and practical strategies for maintaining mental well-being. Alongside this, Mental Health Booths were prepared by the Home for Girls staff and the Wi-SUPPORT team from the Protective Services Division. The booths offered resources, information, and fun activities where participants could engage with valuable mental health tools—and even win prizes in the process.

The celebration serves as a call to action for the DSWD community and beyond to continue prioritizing mental health, recognizing that every supportive step taken today builds a stronger, healthier future for all.
