The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga successfully concluded the 2-day Regional Disaster Response Management Conference (RDRMC) 2024 today, September 3, 2024, at the Almont Inland Resort, Butuan City.

The 2-day conference focused on the critical harmonization of disaster-related data utilization across various agencies and partners. The Family Access Card in Emergencies and Disasters (FACED) Information System, an innovative tool designed to streamline data collection and distribution during emergencies was also introduced to the participants. This is to ensure that aid efficiently reaches affected families during disasters.

Donned in a black and white theme, the partners and stakeholders of DSWD Field Office Caraga gathered together for RDRMC 2024.

During the 1st day of the event, attendees were introduced to four distinct booths showcasing DSWD Caraga’s disaster response initiatives, like the Disaster Response Rehabilitation Booth, Resource Operation Booth, and Project LAWA at BINHI Booth. Participants were also introduced to FO Caraga’s Mobile Command Center, giving them a first-hand experience of how the center operates.

During the 2nd day of the conference, which served as the culmination activity, a symbolic signing of the pledge of support was done, to ensure the harmonization of disaster-related response. The day also featured the awarding and recognition of the invaluable contributions of various partners and stakeholders, honoring their dedication and collaboration in supporting DSWD Caraga’s disaster response efforts and ensuring the welfare of affected communities across the region.

“Most of the time, hindi lang rest and medicine ang kailangan natin, but just a gentle reminder that your work made a difference. Being reminded that you made a difference is more than acknowledgment; it carries profound significance for individuals. DSWD, as vice chair for disaster response, has seen the difference you made, not just once but many and a hundred times. You were there in every disaster, collaborating with us determined to save lives,” DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Administration Tristan Telen, said in his inspirational message.
