The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga provided immediate assistance to families affected by a fire incident in Barangay Telaje, Tandag City, on October 9, 2024.

The fire incident, which occurred at 3 a.m. on the said date, displaced 64 families, with 5 homes partially damaged and 56 totally destroyed.

 

Upon receiving reports of the fire, Field Office Caraga swiftly mobilized its response team, ensuring that urgent needs were addressed. The following assistance were distributed to the affected families:

* 320 family food packs (5 FFPs each)

* 64 family kits

* 64 kitchen kits

* 64 hygiene kits

* 64 sleeping kits

These items were distributed within hours of the incident, ensuring that affected families received essential relief to aid them during this challenging time.
