The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga invited its partners from the Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs) and external partners (CSOs, Academe, NGOs) for the Social Welfare and Development Year-End Forum cum Knowledge Fair Version 11.0 today, November 29, 2024, at the VCDU Prince Hotel, Butuan City.
With the theme “Knowledge Sharing Empowering Change, Invigorating Resilience,” the forum featured discussions on social welfare and development initiatives, highlighting new programs and services of the Department.
In her welcome message, Protective Services Division Chief Jessie Catherine Aranas emphasized the forum’s role in celebrating the dedication of partners and fostering collaboration.
“This forum provides us with a valuable platform to share best practices, reflect on our accomplishments, and discuss strategies for strengthening social welfare and development in our region,” Aranas said.
To apprise the participants of the successful implementation of the programs and services of the Field Office, Policy and Plans Division Chief Elsa Jamora presented the accomplishments of the Field Office for 2024, while recognizing the contributions of the various stakeholders for all the successes.
Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes and Listahanan Regional Field Coordinator Adelito Mendoza introduced the new programs of the Department such as the Tara Basa Tutoring Program and the i-registro.
Furthermore, the Panata ko sa Bayan supplemental guidelines and the DSWD Academy Courses Offers for 2025 were also discussed during the forum.
The event concluded with a ceremony recognizing the contributions of retired LSWD Officers and Listahanan 3 data users, who were honored with plaques of recognition and tokens of appreciation.
