The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) hosted the 2024 MCCT Support Services Intervention Summit cum Sharing Session earlier today to celebrate the successes of Indigenous Peoples’ (IP) associations under the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT) program. Held at The Pavillion A&B, Watergate Hotel, Butuan City, today’s event provided a platform for showcasing the accomplishments of various MCCT-IP groups in agriculture, trade, and micro-lending sector.
The MCCT Summit is part of the Department of Social Welfare & Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga’s initiative to recognize the best-performing associations as a result of monitoring by the 4Ps RPMO. A total of 45 MCCT-IP Associations attended the event, with one representative for each association as well as partners from the National Comission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
The associations were also able to feature their products such as handwoven bags, dried fish, and other food items. Furthermore, three best performing SSI Associations were recognized for their hard work and dedication to improving the well-being of their members and their communities, namely the Pagtilaan MCCT-IP Egg Producer SLP Association as the Best Performing SSI Association, Pamian MCCT-IP Abaca Production SLP Association as the Breakthrough Innovation SSI Association, and the Rosario MCCT-IP Integrated Livelihood Enterprise (RMIELA) awarded as the Most Inspiring SSI Association.
Giving their response messages, the recognized SSI Associations were grateful to DSWD Caraga for the assistance they received in kickstarting their projects through the MCCT SSI. They shall also ensure that their livelihood projects will continue to grow for the benefit of their members, their communities and their families.
