The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga successfully conducted the On-Demand Validation and Registration for the Walang Gutom – 2027 : Food Stamp Program in Surigao del Norte from December 10 to 13, 2024.
This was done to validate and register 1,500 additional beneficiaries from low-income, poor households who are not part of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) but qualified for the food stamp initiative.
The activity, in partnership with local government units across selected municipalities within the province of Surigao del Norte, prioritized the most vulnerable sectors, including Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Senior Citizens, and Solo Parents. These individuals underwent screening and registration to ensure they could benefit from the program, reinforcing the government’s commitment to addressing hunger and improving food security.
The Walang Gutom – 2027 : Food Stamp Program targets food-poor households nationwide and aims to create a hunger-free Philippines by 2027. The efforts in Surigao del Norte is another step toward ensuring food security and alleviating hunger among the province’s most vulnerable populations.
