To bolster its presence in traditional messaging channels, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a media forum today, February 25, 2025 at the DSWD Caraga Conference Hall.

The activity highlighted the agency’s significant achievements in the previous year while unveiling its three new flagship programs under the leadership of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian. These initiatives, the Walang Gutom Program, Tara Basa Tutoring Program (TBTP), and Pag-abot Program, is aligned with President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ vision; strategically designed to address urgent social challenges offering innovative solutions to food insecurity, educational disparities, and access to vital services for marginalized communities.

DSWD Caraga Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga emphasized the crucial role of media collaboration in extending the reach of the Department’s services, particularly in ensuring they effectively connect with grassroots communities.
“Kini nga forum naghatag kanato og usa ka bililhon nga oportunidad sa pagpalig-on sa atong kolaborasyon, pagpauswag sa transparency, ug pagsiguro nga ang tukma ug tukmang impormasyon makaabot sa mga tawo nga labing nanginahanglan niini (This forum provides us valuable opportunity to strengthen our collaboration, enhance transparency, and ensure that accurate and timely information reaches those who need it most).” Director Dollaga stated.

She further extended her commendation to the media personnel for their dedication and tireless support to the agency, acknowledging their pivotal role in the timely and effective dissemination of crucial information across various platforms.
“Daku kaayo akong pasalamat sa atong mga media partners sa ilang walay puas nga suporta sa pagpaabot sa mga importanteng balita ug updates bahin sa atong mga programa. Ang ilang paningkamot usa ka dakong tabang aron mas mapalapdan ang atong mensahe ug maabot ang mas daghang katawhan (I am deeply grateful to our media partners for their unwavering support in disseminating important news and updates about our programs. Their efforts have been a great help in expanding our message and reaching a wider audience),” she added.

With the successful launch of these programs, DSWD Caraga remains committed to its mission of providing responsive and effective social services, harmonized messaging, and reinforcing its advocacy through strong partnerships with the media and the community.
