On the other hand, the Mabungahon Sumilihon SLPA secured PHP 400,000.00 to support their mushroom production venture, promoting sustainable agriculture and livelihood development.

Also present in the activity were key program partners of SLP, including representatives from the local government unit (LGU) of Butuan, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). Their presence demonstrates a unified commitment to fostering community development, maintaining peace and order, and providing necessary support for sustainable livelihoods.

SLP Caraga Grievance and Redress Management Officer (GRMO) Kim Lorenz Batangoso emphasized the profound importance of this ceremonial turnover, highlighting its impact not only on the city but also on its constituents. He underscored that this event symbolizes a pivotal step toward strengthening the partnership between the community and the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), ensuring that resources and support reach those who need them most.

“This ceremonial turnover signifies a crucial milestone in our ongoing journey toward economic empowerment and holistic community development. It highlights the program’s commitment to expanding its reach, particularly to highly urbanized cities where the need for sustainable livelihood opportunities is growing. By extending the program’s presence in these areas, we are not only fostering inclusive growth but also equipping communities with the necessary tools and resources to achieve long-term self-sufficiency,” Batangoso stated.

SLP remains steadfast in its mission to deliver comprehensive programs and services, extending its reach even to highly urbanized areas where the need for economic opportunities is ever-increasing. By empowering individuals and communities with the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources, SLP fosters self-sufficiency and enhances the capacity of urban dwellers to generate sustainable income. This proactive approach not only uplifts the lives of beneficiaries but also contributes significantly to the overall economic growth of the region.
