Butuan City, Caraga – The Association of DSWD Social Workers, Inc. (ADSWI) Caraga Chapter celebrated World Social Work Day (WSWD) 2025 with a series of engaging and purposeful events.
The celebration kicked off on March 18 with a virtual gathering where social workers from DSWD Field Office Caraga connected to hear insights from professionals across different sectors. Stories of impact and dedication were shared, reinforcing the vital role of social work in communities. ADSWI Caraga Chapter President, Ms. Jessie Catherine B. Aranas, reminded attendees to take pride in their profession and the positive change they bring.
The highlight of the event, “ADSWIlebrasyon 2025,” took place on March 19 at the Balanghai and Convention Center. Atty. Ingrid Trixia E. Rullon-Nastor, Regional Director of the Public Attorney’s Office – Caraga, delivered the keynote speech, recognizing the indispensable contributions of social workers. The program also featured discussions on the CREATES case management system and the RSW AKO program, showcasing innovative approaches in the field.
DSWD Field Office Caraga Regional Director, Dir. Mari-Flor A. Dollaga, encouraged social workers to prioritize self-care alongside their commitment to service. The event also included cultural performances and activities that strengthened camaraderie within the community.
Beyond the main celebration, ADSWI Caraga has lined up outreach efforts, including a visit to the Por Cristo Foundation and the “We Are SW (Supporting Women and Girls)” initiative, furthering their mission of service.
This year’s global theme, “Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Enduring Wellbeing,” reflects the profession’s continuous effort to build connections that create lasting impact.
