Another series of training sessions, project inspections, and monitoring visits was recently carried out by the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) for its associations and individual participants across the region.
The initiatives included various technical sessions such as Financial Literacy Training, Introduction to Profit Sharing, Bookkeeping, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as well as critical project site inspections, reassessments, business reviews, and post-monitoring conferences aimed at strengthening microenterprise operations and support systems.
Among the notable activities were:
– Financial Literacy Trainings conducted for two SLP associations in Talacogon; two associations in Trento; another two in Lingig; ten individual participants in Bunawan; 41 participants in Magallanes; and 34 individual participants in Jabonga.
– Introduction to Profit Sharing sessions held for two associations in Kitcharao; three associations in Tubay; and another three associations in Las Nieves.
– A Business Review and Profit-Sharing session for 12 associations in Bayugan City.
– A Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training in San Jose, Dinagat Islands, in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), attended by one association and one individual.
– A Product Enhancement Training in Magallanes, Agusan del Norte, which gathered 41 individual participants, in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
To ensure accountability and compliance, various monitoring and inspection visits were also conducted:
– Final inspections in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur (in partnership with DTI), and in Barobo.
– Project site visits in Tubay and Tandag City, in coordination with the City Engineering Office, City Planning Office, and City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
– Enterprise monitoring and spot checks in Bayugan, Talacogon, and Butuan City, involving multiple associations and individuals.
– Post-monitoring conferences in the municipalities of RTR, Kitcharao, Cabadbaran, Santiago, and Magallanes.
Further community engagement included a special meeting in Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands; a reassessment and project evaluation meeting in Cabadbaran City; and an enhancement seminar held in Cortes, Surigao del Sur, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA).
Several Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries also participated in an SLP Assembly and Microenterprise Development Training, which included Product Enhancement Workshops in partnership with DTI.
Moreover, a Skills Training on Hilot Wellness Massage (NC II) was held in Burgos, Siargao Island, in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)—expanding alternative livelihood opportunities for individuals in the island municipality.
These coordinated efforts underscore SLP’s sustained commitment to capacitating program participants and strengthening partnerships to ensure that livelihood projects remain viable, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of communities across the region.
