Buatuan City- The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Caraga forged a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer-Indigenous People (MCCT-IP).
The ceremony highlighted the awarding of certificate of registration and MOA for MCCT-IP signing to Sibog Katawhan Alang sa Paglambo (SIKAP), Inc..
Regional Director Minda B. Brigoli said that the Conditional Cash Transfer-Indigenous People (CCT-IP) program targeted 4,200 indigenous households in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) covering Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Surigao del Norte.
“This activity will cover five (5) remaining months starting around August to December with a total project cost of 6,570,712 php particularizing 1,520,800 php counterpart from SIKAP, Inc. and a total of 5,049,912 php as a total amount requested from the DSWD” Dir. Brigoli added.
“CCT-IP program implementation aims to demonstrate public-private partnership in the implementation of the modified conditional cash transfer (MCCT) to ensure protection of the indigenous people (IP) and respect to their culture and beliefs, to enhance parenting roles through the parents’ attendance to family development sessions (FDS); and to mainstream HSF into the regular Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program” mentioned Ms. Gelyn Valera, MCCT-IP focal person.
The engagement with SIKAP, Inc. supports the program implementation and serves as co-implementer on the ground to provide other needed support service to the MCCT beneficiaries.
In the said partnership, they provide needed expertise in the implementation of various components of the programs as well as shares capital and other resources required for the implementation.
